Wailea Gold Course
Created by Robert Trent Jones II, the Wailea Gold is the most challenging of Wailea’s trio. Its rugged design takes advantage of the underlying terrain’s natural undulations, and incorporates both ancient and historic features including stark lava rock outcroppings and carefully preserved rock walls called papohaku that were built by Hawaiian people prior to contact with Westerners.
With no homes or structures lining its fairways, the Wailea Gold offers a ‘pure golf’ experience. Every hole comes with broad vistas of the ocean and Maui’s dominant Mt. Haleakala, plus four to six tee boxes that make it suitable for players of varying abilities.
