Wailea Gold Course

Wailea Gold Course

Created by Robert Trent Jones II, the Wailea Gold is the most challenging of Wailea’s trio. Its rugged design takes advantage of the underlying terrain’s natural undulations, and incorporates both ancient and historic features including stark lava rock outcroppings and carefully preserved rock walls called papohaku that were built by Hawaiian people prior to contact with Westerners.

With no homes or structures lining its fairways, the Wailea Gold offers a ‘pure golf’ experience. Every hole comes with broad vistas of the ocean and Maui’s dominant Mt. Haleakala, plus four to six tee boxes that make it suitable for players of varying abilities.

Wailea Emerald Golf Course

Wailea Emerald Course

Master architect Roberts Jones Jr. once commented that the Wailea Emerald was designed with a more ‘feminine’ flair. The course’s lush landscaping and abundant tropical blossoms – colorful and fragrant – certainly give this pristine and beautiful maintained track a softer, gentler feel. The Emerald also offers relatively fewer forced carries, which is a plus for many players.

Wailea Blue Golf Course

Wailea Blue Course

The Blue is Wailea’s original layout, a classic Hawaiian resort golf course designed by Arthur Jack Snyder for what was then a brand-new luxury destination that has since grown to become one of the most renowned on the planet. Over the years, the Blue served as the host course of the Asahi-Kyosen Golf Tournament and the LPGA Women’s Kemper Open, and gained national and international recognition for its lush fairways and spectacular view planes.
